Rebellious Integration
April 25, 2009
A portfolio exhibition curated by Megan Sterling and Katarzyna Cepek
Rebellious Integration toys with the contradiction of a printmaker's continuing subsistence in contemporary art culture and the mores of our society. Although many printmakers work to integrate themselves into the social ranks-- working mainstream jobs, teaching in academia, etc.-- we at the same time continually find ways to be subversive, to challenge the rubric of each institution that we labor so hard to pervade. Participants were asked to rebelliously integrate themselves into this exchange- that is, there were specifications that had to be followed, ie size, edition size, etc., but were then encouraged to rebel in any creative way they liked, be it in their subject matter, mediums, three-dimensionality, shape, materials used, etc.

December 6, 2008
The Grand Opening Party was held Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7, 2008, and featured the work of over 70 artists from all over the world, including our very own CPC printmakers. The turnout was pretty fabulous for being in a recession, but the affordability of the work and the tendency for people to seek unique and handmade items for their loved ones during the holidays made for a very successful show. Artist-made books and cards and t-shirts also flew off the tables, along with the very yummy food tidbits and hot cider. NEW this year was our first ever CPC Small Print Show BLOG. Check it out!
Small Prints. Smaller prices. Great party snacks. Huge Fun. Gigantic affordability. Generous hot cider. Gargantuan Art.

April 21 - May 19, 2008
The show has already made a few stops and is currently on its way to Saginaw Valley State University. The Larson Gallery at Yakima Valley Community College presentation was a stellar success. Gallery Director Cheryl Hahn created an interactive print "laboratory" right in the gallery, and "lines" were not only painted on the walls and across the floor (connecting the Chicago and Yakima artists), but also clear up and on the celebratory cake at the opening! We were duly impressed. They had a fantastic turnout and lots of press. Stay tuned for images by the participating Washington State artists.
